Owner/Broker, Rawlins Real Estate – September 1993 – August 2007
Job Duties: Started, grew, managed, and sold a full-service real estate office. I started the real estate business on a shoestring and grew it from one office with one broker to multiple offices with over 50 sales associates. Bought, sold and developed real estate and real estate projects, managed limited partnerships, build a strong property management department, managed homeowner associations, and created and managed both residential and commercial real estate divisions. The offices were sold in 1997 in favor of completing a sophisticated real estate project in Kiezer Oregon. I ultimately retired in 2007.
Trauma Coach, Oregon Burn Center, Brooke Army Medical Center – November 1987 to present
Job Duties: I work to inspire, motivate, and educate burn trauma patients and their families. I leverage my experience and expertise to reduce patient time in the hospital and give hope to family members and friends. At Brooke Army Medical Center, I was commissioned to formally implement a burn trauma patient recovery program and consulted with patients on reintegration processes including finances, public interaction, sex and marriage, employment, etc., etc. My patients were the worst of the worst. Most endured traumatic amputations, large and deep burns, TBI’s, etc. The average time in the hospital for my patients was 18 months. Additionally, I was responsible for preparing soldiers for what they would experience once deployed to active duty in terms of exposure to trauma. I currently work one day per week at the Oregon Burn Center. This is a volunteer position.
Owner/Broker, Rawlins Real Estate – January 1977 – September 1987
Job Duties: I started my career in real estate as a sales associate in 1977. I purchased an interest in 1979 and purchased the partners out in 1981. I built the company over the years from 13 sales associates to 73 sales associates in 1987. In 1983 when the recession was in full swing, I specialized in liquidating, acquiring, and managing, REO and REA for financial institutions. On September 14th, 1987, I was involved in a catastrophic airplane accident, sustaining serious injuries including full-thickness burns over most of my body. I endured 33 surgeries and extensive physical therapy over 6 1/2 years. My family made the decision to close the real estate offices due later in 1987 to my limited chance of survival.
Note: I have a felony crime on my record for government theft. I’m more than happy to give you a complete description of the circumstances so you can better understand the situation.
